The averages used in the above equation is based on average numbers of storms, storm days, hurricanes, hurricane days, major hurricanes, and major hurricane days over an 154 year period (1851-2005). Hurricaneville has compiled data and constructed a database of all the storms and hurricanes from 1851 to 2005.
